Conscious agriculture with Responsibility

At the Seebacher organic farm, conscious agriculture is paramount. With great care, respect, and genuine passion, we tend to our soil and animals. Everything we produce grows in a natural rhythm and with the highest standards of quality. Our animals live in species-appropriate conditions and contribute to the peaceful, traditional farm life. The following images showcase our work, our values, and the special connection between people, animals, and nature.

Animals that affect our lives accompany

On our farm, all animals live in respectful, species-appropriate conditions. Freedom, exercise, and attentive care are just as important as mindful handling and a personal bond with each individual animal.

Our cattle enjoy year-round access to pasture, grazing on fresh grass, herbs, and clean water. In summer, they graze on our Predlalm alpine pasture, where they experience fresh mountain air and plenty of room to roam. We raise them using a loving mother-cow system, ensuring that each calf has its mother with it at all times. In the evening, the animals voluntarily return to the barn, which provides shelter from the elements. Each animal receives individual attention, fostering trust and a close bond, allowing us to monitor their well-being at all times.

Our chickens begin their day as soon as the rooster crows. They carefully preen their feathers, eat healthy organic barley grains, and lay their eggs. During the day, they explore meadows, compost heaps, and small corners of the garden, pecking for insects and enjoying sunshine, fresh air, and plenty of exercise. In the evening, they return to the coop on their own, where they sleep and rest, safe from foxes, martens, and other dangers, perched on the roost.

The ducks waddle freely around the farmyard during the day, exploring meadows and small garden corners, and reliably keeping the slugs away from the vegetable garden. They feed on worms, insects, fresh soil, and organic barley, play in the water, enjoy the sun and fresh air, and are completely content. In the evening, they are brought into their coop, where they are safe from foxes and martens and can rest.

Our cats are an integral part of our farm family and enjoy both the freedom of the garden and cozy retreats in the house. Curiously, they explore their surroundings, hunt mice, and enrich the lively atmosphere on the farm. At the same time, they love being petted and enjoying quiet moments on our laps. They often come into the house, where Maria and Engelbert lovingly feed them. In this way, a close, trusting bond with us humans develops day by day.

Life & Learn on our farm

Encounters that connect – across national borders. Working together with people, animals and nature in a mindful community.

philosophy

Our farm is a meeting place for people from all over the world. Through WWOOF, we have already welcomed numerous helpers from various countries. The cultural exchange and working together in German and English are a great enrichment for my family and me. Mindfulness, respect, and a conscious approach to people, animals, and nature shape our life together. Maintaining a balance between economics and ethics, as well as between farm animals and companion animals, is an ongoing process that accompanies us every day.
